The
problem for this kind of laboratory is the sensor calibration
speed, because of the great number of sensors which have
to be standardized.
There are 2 ways for solving this probleme: a thermostatic
bath which can provide a short enough period of time for
sensor standardization by means of the comparative method,
or the simultaneous calibration of several sensors.
The first solution is unapproachable from the practical
point of view, because even if it were a thermostatic
bath to provide a range between negative temperatures
and high positive temperatures, the working fluid would
have to be changed at least three times, upon changing
the temperature range, therefore the time gaps occurring
would create delays which would actually slow down the
calibration process (see the theory section – literature).
The second solution is much simpler to approach
with a bath system which should provide the desired temperature
range, and with a sensor scanner integrated into a temperature
standard indicator allowing for the calibration of several
sensors at the same time.
Using the software standardization package for this
system, the certificates can be printed out for each sensor
(needs connection to a PC).
